It’s about time we showed you what it’s like where we’re now living in the village of Piddington. We’ve got a room and a bathroom in the house in this picture:

The door at the bottom right is our entrance. From inside our room, we have a view out to the garden and door so we can get out there too. The garden is huge and beautiful too. It’s got great views over the surrounding countryside because it’s at the top of a hill. Here are some more pics. As usual, if you want them bigger, just click…

Panoramic view of the back garden from the conservatory.

The back of the house. Our room is on the bottom left.
One of the best things about living here is that we can walk to work across the fields. It’s two miles each way so we’re getting plenty of exercise!
When I was teaching in Japan and Korea, the students would often proudly tell me that their countries had “four seasons.” I was never sure why they were so proud of this. Anyway, from time to time, I’d have the inevitable question; “Teacher, do you have four seasons in England [it was never Britain or the UK]?”
“Yes, absolutely,” I’d reply. “Every week.”
Well, they’d laugh their heads off at that one. Don’t think they believed me though.
Today, I finally have proof. Here’s the weather forecast for High Wycombe, our nearest town, for the 4th of March:

Rain, Sun, Hail, Snow – Sounds like Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter to me!
Of course, you’re going to ask me whether it actually happened aren’t you? Well it did rain, it was sunny, just as I set out to walk the 2 miles home from work it started raining again and the snow didn’t turn up until 24 hours later than forecast. No hail.
Sheena made the effort to get out and take some pics while the snow was here recently. Some of them are great and I’d like to share them here.
