India is one of our deep loves. Family history there goes back a long, if not illustrious way. John's grandfather and great grandfather both served in the Indian Army when the British occupied India. His father was born there and despite having to leave in 1947 at independence, they've always had a soft spot for it. John spent six months working in Calcutta when he was 18 and, wanting to share his love of the land, went back with Sheena shortly after we got married in 1995. We spent four months in an isolated clinic near the Nepali border and then two months in the Himalayan foothills working. We had an amazing time and have always wanted to go back.
